Peacebuilding & Conflict Resolution

SWDA advances peacebuilding by strengthening women’s leadership in mediation, reconciliation, and social cohesion, guided by the indigenous “Siiqqee” philosophy.

The organization facilitates community dialogue forums, school-based peace education, and digital safety initiatives that address misinformation, hate speech, and online violence. SWDA also engages youth, traditional leaders, teachers, and local authorities in conflict prevention and peaceful coexistence efforts.

By integrating traditional conflict resolution systems with modern peacebuilding approaches, SWDA enhances community ownership of peace processes and strengthens local mechanisms for early warning and conflict mitigation.

These initiatives have improved social cohesion, increased women’s participation in peace structures, and strengthened community resilience in conflict-affected areas.
