SWDA works to prevent Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV), eliminate harmful traditional practices (HTPs), and promote women’s health, dignity, and bodily autonomy through a survivor-centered and rights-based approach.
The organization strengthens the continuum of care by linking community structures with justice, health, and protection services. Key interventions include training law enforcement and justice actors, establishing and supporting Women and Girls Safe Spaces (W/GSS) and temporary shelters, and strengthening referral pathways for financial, medical, psychosocial, and legal support.
SWDA also implements community awareness initiatives and promotes positive masculinity to shift harmful social norms and reduce violence against women and girls.
These efforts have contributed to stronger protection systems, improved access to survivor services, and increased accountability within formal and informal justice mechanisms.
